Patiala House is an upcoming family drama starring Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia. The movie directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mukesh Talreja, Krishan Kumar, Twinkle Khanna under the banner of ‘People Tree Films Pvt. Ltd.’ and ‘Credence Motion Picture’ and Hari Om Entertainment. Patiala House is hitting the theatres on 11th February, 2011.Patiala House movie is going to cast 32 sardars in one frame. Patiala House is a film based on sports with family drama. In Patiala House action hero Akshay Kumar is for the first time being paired with ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ girl Anushka Sharma. The film will once again bring back veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia together as a couple. The movie is shot in a location and time which is relevant to 1979. The story of Patiala House is based on the life of a Punjabi boy (Akshay Kumar) residing in Southall, London who has an ambition to play for England cricket team. But when he gets a chance to live his dream his strict and anti-Britain Sikh father played by Rishi Kapoor stands against his dream. The main lead is confused as to whether he should go with the decision of his hard core Indian patriot father or pursue his dream. The movie emphasizes on son and father bonding along with their conflicting thoughts.
